Signage at Atherstone station to alert residents to urgent mental health support
Atherstone station will be the beneficiary of a new initiative between Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) and Network Rail, as they aim to raise awareness of their 24/7 mental health support line by installing signage at local railway stations.
Posters have recently been installed at Atherstone station, as well as 10 other railway stations across Coventry and Warwickshire to alert people to the urgent mental health support line, which is available to anybody living in Coventry and Warwickshire.
The service, provided by CWPT, offers members of the public immediate access to mental health support by dialling 0300 200 0011. The service is particularly suited to those who feel like they need urgent mental health support; the phone lines are manned by specialist mental health staff who provide advice, support and signposting over the phone.
Dr Sharon Binyon, Medical Director at CWPT, said: "I would urge anybody who is struggling with their mental health to reach out and speak to someone.
"We have a 24/7 phoneline in place to support people who need urgent access to mental health support. If you are struggling with your mental health and need urgent advice, please pick up the phone and speak to one of our specialist mental health staff. They are here to help you get the support you need."
Richard Godwin, Suicide Prevention Co-ordinator Network Rail North West and Central Region said: "Network Rail are delighted to have worked closely with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust to help promote this valuable service, and to highlight the importance of seeking help and support if anyone is struggling with their mental health.
"It is hoped that by promoting it to the many passengers and staff that use these stations for business or pleasure that more people will use the service and get the specialist help they need. Our thanks go to Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Trains and Chiltern Railways for their support in the project"
