True horrors of the wild come to life at Twycross Zoo's new scare event
Twycross Zoo has announced its new scare event - Horrors of the Wild - which is being staged over just two evenings at the end of this month (Oct).
Not for the faint-hearted, the Atherstone attraction's event on Friday, 30 October and Halloween (31 Oct) comes at a time of increased awareness about the plight of animals in the wild, highlighted in David Attenborough's new Netflix film, A Life On Our Planet.
Horrors of the Wild, suitable for those aged 12 years and over, is being billed as a 'unique' event, unlike any other scare attraction.
It will bring to life the terrifying tales of wild animals as the table is turned on humans and Twycross Zoo's visitors become the prey.
If visitors are not freaked out by the creepy noises of more 500 of the zoo's animals, then they will by the gruesome beings, stealth predators and perilous poachers that have taken over and could attack them at any time.
With blood-curdling scares and gruesome challenges along the way, the experience will start as visitors enter the gates where they'll find themselves in a pitch black zoo and be tasked with making their way out with only a torch in hand.
They must not forget that they are being watched and be prepared for danger at every turn…
Karen Clarke, Twycross Zoo Chief Operating Officer, said: "Horrors of the Wild will be a truly horrifying experience with a theme like nothing ever seen before at Twycross Zoo or another scare attraction.
"Over two evenings the event will highlight threats such as poaching, deforestation and the illega wildlife trade which are prolific for species across the world.
"Although this event is offering a fun, but terrifying experience, for visitors, we must not forget that these gory events are happening around the world today, and we hope that all who book a ticket take away an insight of what animals in the wild face.
"If you are a Halloween enthusiast and get a thrill from the most-ultimate scares, don't miss out on facing your fears this Halloween at Twycross Zoo."
Costing £20 each, limited tickets are available to book online only.
The admission fee will go towards looking after animals at the zoo as well as protecting endangered species across the world.
The event complies with Government coronavirus guidelines and visitors to the scare attraction are advised to wear a face covering at all times and to bring their own torch.
