Atherstone Town Council is inviting residents to apply for a vacant councillor position in the South Ward.

The position will be filled by co-option due to the resignation of Susan Allan-Stubbs.

Anyone wishing to know more about the role of a councillor should contact the town council clerk by calling 01827 720829 or emailing: [email protected]

Written applications, explaining your reasons for wishing to be considered for co-option, should be addressed to the clerk, to arrive no later than midday on Wednesday 14th April 2021.

These can be sent to PO Box 2000, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 1YN.

The vacancy will be filled by majority vote of the councillors attending the Atherstone Town Council meeting on Wednesday 21 April 2021.

The announcement comes just days after Gary Chamberlain resigned from the council's Central Ward, leaving the ward with two vacant positions to be filled.
