Persistent heavy rain from Storm Jorge has placed a "huge doubt" on Atherstone Town's history-making FA Vase clash with Consett AFC.
Club officials are holding a pitch inspection this afternoon and chairman Brian Henney told Nubs News the signs were not "looking good for the game going ahead" at Sheepy Road tomorrow.
A triple whammy of major storms this month have put intolerable pressures on sporting fixtures.
And if Adders' quarter-final match on Saturday falls victim to the weather – it will be third successive home game cancelled due to an unfit pitch.
It is the first time the Town CFC has reached this stage of the competition and they are now just two ties away from a Wembley final.
If the tie cannot be played at the Mark Webster Community Stadium this Saturday, then it could be rearranged for next weekend.
Meanwhile, next week's Midland Football League fixture at Ashby is already in doubt as their pitch is waterlogged.
"It's all in the lap of the weather Gods but I have to say it is not looking good for tomorrow," said chairman Henney.
On the playing side, Adders have signed experienced ex-Coleshill, Corby, Sutton Coldfield and Bolehall Swifts front man Jordan Francis. He is expected to go straight into Saturday's game with Consett.
Fans face segregation and a search before entering the ground tomorrow.
The club has said all home supporters will be directed through the Sheepy Road turnstile with "strictly no entry" at the Rowland Way side of the ground.
In addition, there will be a "persons and bags" search to take account of the issues emanating from Town's last appearance in the FA Vase with Worcester City FC.
Weather note: Up to three inches of rain has been forcecast through Friday and overnight with yellow weather warnings and 60mph winds following on Saturday for a further 24 hours.
The Met Office's chief meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, said further flooding is possible anywhere across the country with rain forecast to fall on already saturated ground.
Storm Jorge is the fifth storm to hit the UK since December 6 last year and third in February, Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said it was "not uncommon" to see so many storms in such a short period of time.
