North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) is inviting the local community, including staff, students, and neighbours, to join the fun at its Nuneaton Campus later this month.

It will stage a two-hour, non-stop dance party designed to raise money for the LOROS Hospice charity.

People are being asked to wear their brightest clothes at the 'Clubberthon' on Tuesday 14 September 2021, and wave a glow stick, as they dance to club anthems from the 90s as well as the latest chart hits.

Designed for all the family, this mass workout will include high and low impact routines so everybody can join in regardless of their level of fitness.

The college is running the event as part of its involvement in the Rocket Round Leicester art trail which continues until 26 September 2021. NWSLC has sponsored a giant rocket designed on the theme of 'Sent with Love' which will be on display at The Rally off Tudor Road in Leicester.

Students from NWSLC and pupils from Midland Academies Trust schools competed to win the chance to have their creative designs chosen for eight mini rockets known as Junior Jets which also feature on the trail.

The event is designed to provide a boost for the LOROS hospice charity which looks after more than 2,500 people each year. NWSLC and the MAT have pledged to raise at least £8,000 for LOROS as part its involvement in the trail and donations can be made here.

You can even get sponsored to take part in the Clubberthon and make a huge difference to this vital charity.

At the Clubberthon, there will be raffle prizes to win, and our glitter stations will help every dancer to look the part. Dancers will be asked to make a donation on the door of £10 for adults and £5 for children. Payment will be taken in cash or by card. Refreshments and glow sticks will be available for an extra donation.

The Clubberthon take place on:

Tuesday 14 September 2021, at 6pm – 8pm. Location: NWSLC Nuneaton Campus, Hinckley Road, Nuneaton CV11 6BH Carrie-Anne Abdulai, Director for Higher Education and Access to Higher Education Provision for NWSLC said, "Rocket Round Leicester is a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain experience of a live commercial project by creating designs for the rockets, competing against their peers, meeting real deadlines, and delivering against their objectives. "They are now involved in organising a fun event that we hope will bring people together for a much-needed celebration and a chance to get fit after lockdown."
