As the nation continues to emerge from the third national lockdown, and North Warwickshire continues to fight against some of the highest Covid-19 infection rates in the West Midlands, free home testing kits are now being made available for Atherstone residents.

Alongside the lateral flow testing that has been on offer since the end of 2020, the testing centre at Woolpack Way, Atherstone is now supplying residents with free home testing kits.

These are available to pick up from 1.00pm every day.

Testing kits are also available from from Polesworth Fire Station, Tamworth Road, B78 1HP today (Tuesday 13) from 9.00am-3.00pm.

Home testing kits have been on offer from employers since the end of March.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said rapid testing was a "vital part" of the roadmap out of lockdown, "helping us to cautiously lift restrictions on our economy and society".

"Around one in three people with coronavirus do not have any symptoms," he said. "So extending employee testing from the workplace to the home will help us identify more cases we otherwise wouldn't find, prevent further transmission and save lives."
