NEWLY-LIVERIED TRAILERS APPLAUD EVERYONE HELPING FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

ATHERSTONE haulier Alan Ball has gone the "extra mile" to show the whole of Britain and Europe how much he values the total devotion of NHS heroes and key workers during the coronavirus crisis.

The Ball Truckin boss says the dedication of UK health workers in saving lives of people infected by Covid-19 is "humbling".

And the 48-year-old was determined to send out as big a message of "thanks" as possible – one that would just run and run.

To that effect the food distribution specialist, with head offices in Abeles Way and a yard in Hartshill, has transformed the livery of two of its trailers to display the country's eternal gratitude to staff fighting on the virus frontline plus those keeping the community safe and shops well-stocked.

The message is massive and crystal clear: Thank you to our NHS heroes and ALL key workers.

The trailers will be used as part of the haulage firm's fleet of 62 vehicles, which transport goods nationwide and right across Europe for companies such as Aldi and Geary's Bakery.

Company director Mr Ball, who started the business in 2003 and now has an 80-strong workforce, said: "We felt it was important to do our bit to show our appreciation to everyone who is helping to save lives as part of our NHS.

"It has been an incredibly tough few weeks for many families and countless people are putting themselves at risk to save others.

"It is humbling to see the dedication and hard-work of all key workers and we hope that some of them see our message of support as the trailers travel across the country.

"We'd also like to thank Leamore Signs for helping us put the designs together and also Keltruck who are our partners for vehicle support out on the roads."

As well as having the two new trailers designed, the company is also supporting the network support transport for ICD, which is assisting the UK Government and the NHS.

The first of the two newly-designed trailers has already completed its first outing to deliver bread for Aldi and is set to make a journey to Holland to collect crucial bakery ingredients for UK manufacturers.

And today he asked Nub News to help spread the word for our NHS heroes and key workers.

If any NHS organisation wants a 'drive-by for heroes' on #ClapForCarers Thursday – or any day of the week – with one of the lorry trailers, then call 01827 717797 and ask for Jodie or email [email protected].

"We think it would be a nice idea to bring along our livered lorries when demonstrations of appreciation are taking place – and the 'thanks' don't come much bigger than our messaged trailers," added Mr Ball.
