Atherstone Town players have promised themselves a "minimum of promotion" to the summit of the Midland Football League after missing out on their Wembley dream.
Tonight they "pick themselves up and dust themselves down" in the hope of reaching first base in a mammoth run-in of potentially 23 games between now and the end of the season.
The losing FA Vase quarter-finalists are still hunting down two more trophies and will head for Sporting Khalsa ground to take on Black Country Rangers in the BCFA Midweek Challenge Cup (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Adders gave their all in a bid to reach the Buildbase vase semi-finals against Bitton on March 21 but they came up short on Saturday – eventually going down 3-1 after the game against Northern League Division One Consett AFC went into extra time with the sides level at one apiece.
The Town CFC face a breakneck three games a week over the next two months with the ultimate prize of reaching the MFL Premier either from a top-four spot or possibly as champions with eight games in hand on leaders Leicester Road, currently 25 points ahead of the Sheepy Road side but they still have to play each another.
Lying sixth in the table – with 16 league fixtures to go – Adders have games in hand on all the rivals above them.
Saturday's man-of-the-match Nathan Haines posted being "absolutely gutted" after the defeat but striker Joe Obi spoke of achieving "at least" promotion for the disappointed players.
The club said this Tuesday's cup fixture was a chance to "get your heads up, dust yourselves down and we go again".
