Atherstone Town's players have been left "kicking their heels" again with tonight's postponement of their Midland Football League clash at Ashby Ivanhoe.
It's the sixth game called off and if Saturday's FA Vase quarter-final tie with Northern Football League Division One Consett AFC does go ahead it will be three weeks since the Adders actually played a serious game.
Cambridgeshire referee Simon Kavanagh travelled to inspect the Leicestershire pitch before deciding it was waterlogged.
"It has even been difficult to train," said chairman Brian Henney. "You have to feel sorry for the players in these circumstances."
The club is keeping all fingers, and legs, crossed that the weather gods are on their side and Saturday's history-making last eight tie gets the all-clear.
Victory in that game will see the road to Wembley clearing – with a two-legged semi-final against Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Bitton.
Tonight was due to be the start of facing five games in a 12-day period for the Adders.
