Young medics-to-be learning on the job as they support NHS frontline heroes at George Eliot Hospital's most 'difficult time'
UNDERGRADUATES JOIN 100-STRONG 'FORCE FOR GOOD' WORKING IN ALL AREAS AND WARDS DURING CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK
STUDENTS at Atherstone's main hospital are practising what health professionals preach when it comes to social distancing in these dark days of the coronavirus outbreak.
These young medics-to-be are admirably keeping the regulatory six feet apart while increasing their knowledge banks in the lecture theatre at the George Eliot Hospital.
The Nuneaton hospital, whose intensive therapy unit is in the frontline of the fight against Covid-19, has more than 100 students who have joined the clinical staff in supporting the NHS heroes.
A spokeswoman for #TeamEliot said they were "working throughout all areas and wards", adding: "We would like to say a huge thank-you to them."
Since coronavirus descended on the globe, medical students have been brought in to help in roles suited to their experience.
In some NHS trusts in the UK, options under consideration give final-year students who have passed their exams and want to assist the option to have their General Medical Council registration brought forward.
The group in the picture are from Warwick Medical School, home to the UK's largest graduate-entry degree course for Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery over a four-year period.
