Time is running out to apply to rent the upstairs space in Atherstone Arcade

By James Smith 15th Mar 2021

Time is running out for local groups, businesses and individuals to register interest in using the upper floor offices and meeting rooms at Atherstone Arcade on Long Street.

Atherstone Town Council is asking for potential occupants to register interest by March 31 in order for the council to decide how the space should be used.

ATC has said: "The town council is keen to support the local community by providing a cost-effective, competitively priced facility to its potential users including business, commercial, not-for-profit, charitable organisations or individuals.

"The spaces may be let or hired according to user requirements.

"The premises offer office, workshop, or meeting room spaces, which is currently configured as shown in the plan. In addition to the office spaces there are toilet facilities and a kitchen."

The invitations for letting fall under ATC's 'Vision Statement for its Arcade Development Plan.'

The plan states that it aims:

- To provide a safe, inclusive, well-maintained and attractive environment for shoppers, visitors and tenants of The Arcade

- To undertake an economical, sustainable programme of improvements to the first floor, which are DDA compliant, in order to create a multi-functional, flexible space that can be made available to individuals/groups/organisations for a range of community activities and/or training, education, social enterprise, commercial or business activities

- To explore options of working in collaboration with other partners to access funding for the programme of improvements and to determine the future use and management of The Arcade.

- To engage and consult residents, the public, local businesses and other stakeholders to ensure the project meets the needs and interests of potential users.

The town council is inviting expressions of interest from potential users and would like to hear from any such individuals or organisations as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday 31 March 2021.
