One of the Midlands' leading independent car dealerships is offering a lifeline "go anywhere" delivery service to help Atherstone and district cope with social distancing during the coronavirus crisis .

Big-hearted Polesworth Garage is ready and willing to collect pensioners' provisions or pick up prescriptions from local pharmacies.

They are just two solutions that the long-established Nissan dealership can deal with immediately in the wake of having its drivers "not being so busy as usual".

Owner Martin Newbold told Nub News: "We'd go anywhere for this service at the moment as we have three or four drivers doing very little.

"We can help to get shopping for the elderly or take prescriptions from the pharmacy to someone's home.

"We will also collect and deliver vehicles to help all our clients get their cars serviced and maintained.

"Polesworth Garage will help the community beat coronavirus." All you have to do is call the Grendon Road business on 01827 895125 or email [email protected] Many businesses in the area facing a downturn through having to close or suffering a lack of customers through stay-at-home advice from Government are offering help to the vulnerable – and reduce-priced menus in the case of pubs and restaurants forced to close during the coronavirus outbreak.
