Crews from Atherstone Fire Station were called out over the weekend to attend a road traffic collision on the A5 at Woodford Lane junction.

Three vehicles Telsa, a Fiat 500 and a Citroen were involved and crews made all three vehicles safe.

Whilst there were injuries at the scene, none were deemed to be life-threatening.

Atherstone and Coleshill Police were also on hand to close the road whilst the collision was being dealt with.

A spokesperson from Atherstone Fire Station said "There were multiple casualties, non of which were believed to have life changing injuries.

"We were requested by the Police to isolate a Tesla that had been involved.

"Due to our training and resources available to us, they knew it wouldn't be a problem for us to make the vehicle safe.

"We made the three vehicles safe after providing scene safety for all the emergency services."

The junction has been the site of a number of collisions in 2020, and many residents have called for a change in the junction's layout.
