Motorbike rider arrested after following and then grabbing car driver by the throat in Atherstone

A motorbike driver was arrested in Atherstone today after following a car, waiting for it to stop and then throttling the driver inside.

The suspect is alleged to have also used his helmet to damage the car's wing mirror.

He remains in custody awaiting an interview.

A police statement said: "Suspect is alleged to have followed the victim on his motorbike and when she has stopped the car has opened the car door and gripped her by the throat.

"He has also used his helmet to cause damage to the wing mirror of the car.

"Suspect in custody awaiting interview."
