An Atherstone manufacturing company founded more than half a century ago is for sale.

M.R. Tool, founded in 1969 by Mel Fawcett and Ray Freeman, is being marketed by myownbusiness.co.uk with a £1,365,000 price tag.

Established as special cutting tools manufacturer, the company successfully expanded both its capacity and product range to become one of the largest producers of standard and special cutting tools in the UK.

The marketing material says the business is 'priced for genuine retirement sale after many successful years trading in same hands with vast inventory of plant and stock included'.

"Very long-established market leading limited company producing premium quality cutting tools from extremely spacious industrial workshop and office premises fitted to high CNC specs in outstanding commercial location.

"Impressive nationwide 'blue chip' client base in the aerospace, automotive, defence, marine and general engineering sectors.

"Huge scope to develop worldwide or fantastic specialist acquisition for expanding precision engineering solutions provider," it adds.

M.R. Tool company website describes the business as: "The largest surviving independent cutting tool manufacturer in the UK, with modern CNC machines and equipment capable of manufacturing over ten thousand tools per week, supplying markets both at home and worldwide."
