SURREY CROOK TARGETS FIVE PROPERTIES IN A 48-HOUR CRIME SPREE

'ONLY VICTIMS WILL APPRECIATE THE FEELING THAT SOMEONE HAS INVADED YOUR PERSONAL SPACE AND BEEN THROUGH YOUR BELONGINGS'

A MAN who targeted an Atherstone property in a burglary spree across five towns and villages in the space of 48 hours has been jailed.

Anthony Connors criss-crossed the Warwickshire countryside to commit the offences over three days in September last year.

He admitted the raids on homes in Atherstone, Coleshill, Leamington, Rugby and Stretton-on-Dunsmore when he appeared at Warwick Crown Court.

Connors, of Outwood in Surrey, was sentenced to a 45-month prison term.

He was arrested in February this year after police stopped the vehicle reported to have been used in one of the offences and Connors fitted the description provided by one of the victims.

Detective Constable Karl Brennan said: "Only people who have been burgled will appreciate the feeling that someone has invaded your personal space and been through your belongings.

"We work hard to ensure those responsible for these crimes are brought to justice."
