Calling Atherstone and district: Send us your A-level results and let's celebrate

CORONAVIRUS OR NOT, EVERY SINGLE STUDENT DESERVES RECOGNITION FOR THEIR EFFORTS

IT'S been the worst year for education in living memory.

But despite the enormous impact of coronavirus on our schools and colleges – we still believe there is a need to celebrate.

At the eleventh hour youngsters in England will be offered a "triple lock" aimed at giving fairer A-level scores.

Pupils will be able to choose whichever is highest out of their computer-moderated grade, mock result or a September re-sit if they opt for it.

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said: "Every young person waiting for their results wants to know that they have been treated fairly.

"By ensuring students have the safety net of their mock results as well as the chance of sitting autumn exams, we are creating a triple lock process to ensure they can have the confidence to take the next steps forward in work or education.

"No one wanted to cancel exams – they are the best and fairest form of assessment, but the disruption caused by Covid-19 meant they were not possible.

And so this afternoon your number one news platform is calling all A-Level students and parents from Atherstone, Mancetter, Grendon, Baxterley, Baddesley, Bentley, Merevale, Ratcliffe Culey, Sheepy, Twycross and Witherley.

Please send Nub News your photos and results, and we'll do our best to publish them.

So whichever school, academy or sixth form college you attend, please get in touch.

Atherstone Nub News believes that every single student deserves recognition for their efforts.

Please include your results, a photo, full names, school and a contact telephone number. You can include a quote about how you're feeling and your plans too.

You have three choices. You can:

- Email the photos and text to [email protected]

- Upload your story/photos via the black Nubit button on the website

- Or give me – Nick Hudson – a call on 07852 490666, and we'll sort something out.
