Crews from Atherstone Fire Station were called out over the weekend to deal with a vehicle fire in Baddesley Ensor.

Fire fighters attended a blaze on Saturday, January 23 at around 10.30pm. A vehicle, thought to have been stolen, was alight on Folly Lane.

Once the fire was tackled the crew were able to make use of a thermal imaging camera to ensure the vehicle was indeed safe.

A statement from Atherstone Fire Station said: "At 10.36pm on Saturday evening, the on-call crew were called to a car fire on Folly Lane, Baddesley.

"Upon arrival there was a vehicle well alight. The crew extinguished the fire using a hose reel by a FF wearing Breathing Apparatus.

"The crew made sure that the fire was fully extinguished by checking that there was no heat remaking with a Thermal Imaging Camera.

"The vehicle was abandoned and suspected to be stolen."
