FedEx UK Headquarters in Atherstone have made a donation of £3,000 to the local lifesaving air ambulance.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic the central hub teams wanted to do something to show support for a local charity – so they chose to raise funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

To raise the superb amount, staff held onsite collections across the three central hubs, and had a rainbow themed dress-down day where everyone wore bright clothes – where some very dedicated team members even temporarily dyed their hair bright colours.

FedEx Traffic Operator, Terrell Mitchell said "FedEx Express has set out to positively impact 50 million people by its 50th anniversary in 2023- as part of FedEx Cares, the company's way of giving back to the communities that their team members live and work in.

"The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was chosen as it's a charity which supports our local communities, providing lifesaving critical care and relying solely on charitable donations to operate daily.''

Not only have the team at FedEx donated £3,000, but they have also confirmed that they will continue to fundraise for the vital service in 2021.

Delighted by the generous donation and recognition of the service WNAA provides to the local communities, Community Fundraising Executive Lee Bunting added "Donations such as this from FedEx is the reason that we are able to continue providing our frontline service 24/7, and we are very grateful.

"We have continued to operate throughout this pandemic because of the generosity from our local communities and businesses – so a huge thank you to the entire team at FedEx for their support."

Anyone wishing to learn more about the lifesaving service can visit the air ambulance website or call 0300 3045 999.
