An Atherston pub has launched a new 'pub desk' scheme today (Tues) offering office workers stuck at home a change of scenery.

Every weekday afternoon, The Black Horse, in Long Street, is providing workers with a table to themselves, a plug socket, free WiFi for up to four hours, unlimited coffee and tea with a sandwich, cake or muffin - all for just £10.

Jayne Griffiths, manager of the town centre pub, told Atherstone Nub News: "Since coronavirus restrictions a lot of people have been forced to spend their time working from home and many are getting tired of looking at the same four walls.

"We thought this would give them an opportunity to get out and enjoy a change of surroundings.

"All they have to bring along is their laptop and we provide the space and refreshments."

The pub desks are available from Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 4pm, but there is limited availability and booking in advance is recommended by calling the pub on 01827 711522.
