BE A 'CULTURE VULTURE' AND FIND INVENTIVE WAYS TO BEAT BOREDOM

MUSEUM and library staff are sharing their 'stay home' scrapbooks with Atherstone and surrounding villages to help beat the boredom of Covid-19 lockdown.

Ongoing restrictions are driving the sanest of us a little potty this Easter.

Faced with free days to fill at home, families have to find inventive ways to keep everyone entertained.

Luckily for those looking for a good culture fix, there are a whole host of online options available.

This week you can find out what the Heritage and Culture Warwickshire team is working on from home on their website here.

Each week, a different member of the team will be sharing information on what they are working on while Atherstone Library along with museums, and archives buildings are close.

Look out for the publication of a new book review from a member of libraries' staff, which may give you some inspiration for what to borrow this week the digital library service BorrowBox, which you can access for free here.

Book lovers in Atherstone have been handed a fines-free bonus and told it would definitely "not be nice to see you" turning up at the town's library during the coronavirus crisis.

Nub News revealed libraries chief Ayub Khan gave service lenders an early Easter gift of not having to worry about their usual worst fear – forgetting to take back an overdue book.

The Long Street information centre has been closed since March 23 due to the coronavirus outbreak. But any books out on loan can be kept at home with no fines being imposed at any point for the" duration of the current lockdown period".

Now here are few more recommendations to give you that culture fix to fix coronavirus boredom:

Delve into the National Archives

Staff at the National Archives have compiled a series of Boredom Busters to keep Easter thumb-twiddlers entertained. They have downloadable activity packs for children, tips on how to date and care for those treasured family photographs and guidance on how to start researching your family tree. Of course you can also get lost in their enormous online archive itself, where there are nine million records available to download here Get stuck into a creative Easter challenge

The teams at Sunderland Culture have pulled together a whole two weeks' worth of family fun and creative challenges.

Every day they are uploading a new activity, with downloadable instructions available on their website.

Challenges so far have included putting together your own stained-glass Easter egg and a dinosaur knowledge test..Click here.

Watch Fleabag for charity
