Three new councillors have today been elected to Atherstone Town Council, all to fill vacant positions within the Central Ward.

Pauline Gurney has been elected as a Conservative councillor, whilst Martin Barnett and Derek Pickard will both represent Labour.

All three received more votes than Jake Braithwaite, also Labour, in what was a fairly narrow split.

Following the co-option of Cllr Stacey Wightman last week, Atherstone Town Council is now back to its full compliment of councillors.

Pauline Gurney, Conservative - 383

Martin Barnett, Labour - 294

Derek Pickard, Labour - 276

Jake Braithwaite, Labour - 219
