The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, has praised the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in Warwickshire Rural Primary Care Network (PCN).

The PCN covers patients from four surgeries: Pear Tree, Hazelwood, Dordon and Polesworth group practice, and Satis House.

In a letter to MP for North Warwickshire Craig Tracey, Mr Hancock said: "I am writing to update you on the fantastic efforts of your local Covid vaccination teams.

"I am delighted to inform you that Warwickshire Rural PCN is the best performing in the region for vaccinating cohorts one to nine."

Cohorts one to nine include all those aged over 50, as well as front line care workers and individuals with underlying health conditions.

Mr Hancock continued: "It's incredible to see this community spirit, as people pull together to lead us collectively out of the pandemic. I hope you will join me in thanking and congratulating all those involved in your area for the part that are playing in this national effort."

In a statement on social media, Mr Tracey responded: "it was great to get this letter from Matt Hancock yesterday saying that the Warwickshire Rural PCN is the best performing in the region.

"It is a massive achievement for all involved and its was fantastic to get the opportunity to congratulate Dr Brown, Pratice Manager Debbie and the rest of the team on the amazing work they are doing for our communities.

"This is part over the overall operation across North Warwickshire & Bedworth which sees us as one of the best performing constituency in the country for vaccinations. Huge thanks to everyone involved."
