Atherstone turns blue as Conservatives take county council seat from Labour

Atherstone is now blue as Conservative candidate Mejar Singh has been elected to Warwickshire County Council today.

Labour's Neil Dirveiks has lost the Atherstone Ward seat at WCC which he has held since 2013.

Cllr Singh received 1,143 votes, taking the seat from Labour which received 688.

North Warwickshire has also retained Conservative councillors in Hartshill and Mancetter (Margaret Bell), Baddesley and Dordon (Andy Wright), and Kingsbury (Andy Jenns) Wards.

Margaret Bell, Conservative - 1,470

Bob Copland, Labour - 554
